Committed Cycle Time and Pricing for Multiple Cycle Time Services

In order to meet the customer requirements for more shorter committed cycle time, IC foundries provide multiple cycle time product service. It means that wafer lots are assigned different committed manufacturing cycle time based on customer’s demands. However, there is not linear relationship between throughput and manufacturing cycle time. If the companies determine the wrong committed cycle time decision, it would bring some loss to companies and customers. So, how to determine a appropriate committed cycle time is the most important thing for IC foundries. Based on this idea, this research proposes a systematic approach to determine various committed cycle time and the corresponding relative prices. We use ASAP, the semiconductor manufacturing line simulator, to analyze the impact of different percentage of shorter cycle time lots on the decrease of lots that are made within the committed cycle time. Then we propose new committed manufacturing cycle time for different percentage of shorter cycle time lots. Finally, we calculate the prices of shorter cycle time products for particular committed cycle time based on fixed net profit assumption.
