摘要: 此一場發射顯示器(FED)驅動電路是針對色點元素個數為480*(640*3) 的FED面版所設計而成.用以處理控制器(controller)所送至之信號,包括 水平同步信號,垂直同步信號時脈信號,R-G-B三色信號能夠正確地傳送到 FED面版上,達成畫面及色彩的傳送與顯示. 此一驅動電路接受了三個 不同相位的時脈信號,此一時脈信號是用來控制移位暫存器的動作,移位暫 存器便得以控制取樣保持電路,將類比多工器所送達的R-G-B三色類比信號 存取於取樣保持電路,然後再經由類比緩衝器將訊號送至FED面板上.在此 驅動電路中,共含有120組的驅動輸出點,所以對於640*3=1920個橫向色點 元素而言,一共需要16顆驅動IC.電路中之類比多工器可根據面板的色素排 列不同以及操作模式不同而輸出適當之R-G-B三色信號,使電路能依不同的 FED面板規格而自行串接,根據電路的設計與模擬,一個利用UMC 24V CMOS SPSM 的測試晶片已經製造出來,並且也對此測試晶片作了量測,從量測分 析所得的節果,在進一布電提升電路的特性. The field emission display(FED) data driver is designed for 480*(640*3)pixelsFED panel.This FED driver processes the signals received from the display controller,such as horizontal synchronization signals,vertical synchronizationsignals,clock signals,R-G-B color signals,transforms and displays these color signals correctly on the FED panel. Three clock signals with 120 degrees phase difference respectively manipulate the shift register of this data driver.The digital data stored inthe shift register control the sample and hold circuits which sample and holdthe analog R-G-B color signals which has passed through the on-chip analog multiplexer.Finally,the held R-G-B color signals are output through an unity- gain buffer onto the FED panel. There are 120 outputs on this data driver.Thus,we need 16 drivers to drive 640*3=1920 horizontal color pixels.The circuit isoperating in 5v - -19V digital voltage level and analog voltage range.The analog multiplexer is designed according to different color pixel arrangementand different operating modes. R-G-B data signals will be controlled throughthis multiplexer and transmitted to the sample and hold circuit rapidly. According to the design and simulation of the driver,a testkey has beenmanufactured using UMC 24V CMOS SPSM process. Furthermore,measurement hasbeen done on the testkey.By analyzing the measurement results,we could enhancethe performance of this driver.
