THE FINANCIAL RATIOS ANALYSIS AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IN WIRELESS CHARGING INDUSTRIES

|Abstract:||近年來，無線充電技術是最暢行的主題之一，目前市場上有兩個主要的充電標準，WPC及Airfuel Alliance，無線充電市場可區分為消費電子、工業用、電動車、醫療用以及其他。本篇使用財務指標分析無線充電產業的競爭優勢，並以Tang & Liou (2010) 於Strategic Management Journal (SMJ) 發表之「競爭優勢產生卓越績效」為架構，依特性將財務指標拆分為客戶關係、供應商關係、智慧財產以及資產管理進而拆解出資源構型，以其為主要分析工具。
整體來說，整合了研發，製造及產品導向的公司，因規模經濟的效應，財務績效表現十分卓越 ; 而定位在研發及生產導向的公司，財務績效表現亦佳 ; 反之仍在研發階段的公司，其財務績效表現就不如整合了上中游或囊括上中下游的公司。|
Currently, Wireless charging technology is one of the most popular topics, there are two major standards dominating wireless charging technology, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and Airfuel Alliance, and the wireless charging market is segmented by application into consumer electronics, industrial, electric vehicles, healthcare and others. In this study, the financial indicators would be utilized to measure the competitive advantage of wireless charging technology. Based on the resource configurations of Tang & Liou (2010), the components of financial return & resource advantage can be decomposed into customer relationship, supplier relationship, intellectual property and asset management. The wireless charging suppliers are classified into three tiers, R&D, manufacturing and products. In this study, five indicative companies are selected due to their leading-edge disruptive technology in wireless charging industry, the selected companies engaged with strategic partnership in order to develop and integrate their technology. Overall speaking, the vendor who integrated from R&D, manufacturing and Products selling, gave the superb performance in its profitability indictors due to its economic of scale. The suppliers who are positioning in R&D and manufacturing simultaneously, performed outstanding as well. However for the venture who only focusing on R&D or end products, the performance of their profitability may not as good as those ventures that embrace from up tier to down tier.
