The Study of the Relationship between the Job Stress and the School Organizational Health for Elementary School Teachers with Administrative Duties

The study is made with the purpose of investigating the Job Stress and the School Organizational Health for Elementary School Teachers with Administrative duties. In order to serve the research purpose, the instrument was self-designed. There are 293 elementary school teachers with administrative duties sampled in Taiwan, Hsinchu county. Data were analyzed by the method of descriptive and inferential statistics, including one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation , and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The major results of the study are as follows: 1. The job stress of elementary school teachers with administrative duties is considered as「middle-low」level. 2. There were significant differences in elementary school teachers＇job stress based on age, administrative period of service, administrative position, and different department where they service. 3. Teachers’ perception of school organizational health is considered as「middle-above」level. 4. As the perception of school organizational health was considered, the performance of senior, unmarried, graduated from normal universities, more years administrative period of service, director, teachers was significantly higher. 5. “Job stress＂and “school organizational health＂of elementary school teachers with administrative duties have significantly correlation. 6. As a result, school organizational health could predict the elementary school teachers’ job stress. The results of the study will be able to provid information and statistical data for educational authority, schools, teachers with administrative duties, and prospective researchers for their future studies.
