摘要: 有鑑於線上遊戲成為當今青少年重要的娛樂媒體與溝通互動場域,本研究以 「性別文化」為關注焦點,嘗試從「文本框架」、「玩家展演」與「線上溝通情境」 等三個面向。研究將採取多重複和式的研究方法,分為三年進行,第一年將以遊 戲的文本框架為討論焦點,探索遊戲文本預設的性別角色與性別互動模式;第二 年將以玩家的性別展演經驗為主,討論玩家如何與遊戲介面接合、進行性別展 演,而玩家對此性別展演的意義詮釋與反身性思考;第三年將鎖定在線上溝通情 境的人際溝通與團隊互動,探討線上遊戲的溝通情境如何影響遊戲世界裡的性別 文化。 本研究之研究成果,經有助於瞭解:1)線上遊戲在商業體制運作下呈現的性 別觀點與性別角色;2)遊戲玩家在遊戲結構下「再度身體化」過程獲得的性別意 識體驗;3)賽伯空間作為溝通情境的社會文化意涵。研究預期可以針對線上遊戲 的傳播行為與性別文化,提出一個可以同時關注文本、閱聽人與情境的理論觀察 模式。
Online digital games have been a mass-market commercial phenomenon for more than twenty-five years and they are one of the most rapidly expanding sectors of the cultural industries economically which become a regular part of life for millions of people. Players controlled, occupied, and mastered the avatars who female avatars are specifically hypersexual in a way that male avatar are hypermasculine. This is seen as distinctive to the gender culture of online digital games and worth to explore further. This proposal attempts to explore the gender culture of online digital games and proposes the meaning of game experience constructed by game textuality, player’s performance, and online communication context. It is a three-year study and uses the multi-method including: a) analyses the game textualities by text analysis, b) explores the performances of players by deep interview, and c) investigates online communication contexts by participant observation. Through those research procedures, the study hopes to constitute a initial framework to deliberate the interactions of game textuality, player’s performance, and online communication context and how they influence the gender culture of online digital games.
